Common Questions

What do I need to wear?

Basic athletic wear is perfect. If your department is renting mats there is a possibility of training outside, so dress accordingly. Shoes and socks are prohibited on the mat, for the sake of hygiene and the protection of the mat. Be aware, pulling on clothes is not encouraged, but it is almost guaranteed. Don't wear your favorite date night shirt.

What do I need to bring?

Nothing, but yourself and a water bottle. A small snack will be provided after training.

Does gender matter?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art, and therefore a full contact exercise. This can make some people uncomfortable when training with individuals of a different gender. If you are uncomfortable in any way, please pull one of your instructors aside, and they will be more than happy to make appropriate accommodations. Our team is made of professional instructors devoted to the safety and growth of our participants.

What is your COVID-19 policy?

The in-person nature of our training is essential to our work. However, we encourage our participant's to protect themselves in whatever ways they and their department deem necessary.

Don't let COVID-19 stop your participants from receiving the training they deserve. We will be more than happy to get creative and find a safe and effective way to conduct training.
